Intro

Back in (I think) March, a simple minded thought process in hand, I began to pound out a column called, just incase you haven't guessed, Contributions to the Breakdown. A title which grew from the same place that this site's quasi-cynical motto ("Proudly contributing to the breakdown of good taste"). My only little spot to bitch and moan about the entertainment industry.

After pounding out my first aimless column (mostly it was a non-stop session of me bitching that Godzilla didn't get a nomination for best SPFX), I did some web surfing. Call it a recon operation; gaining knowledge of the terrain and all that. Sometimes, a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing, as I soon discover that every single firkin' review site on the net (well . . . the ones with actual writers behind them, that is) had posted similar articles in their columns.

Now, I don't like being a copy cat. It's boring, stupid and (should someone point out my copy cat status) embarrassing. So I amble aimlessly around for awhile, trying to find out what the hell I should do. Thank God for Jerry Fallwell. When he made his accusation that Tinky Winky presented a gay roll model for our nations children, I just couldn't resist. Here was a story about the entertainment industry (if anyone over 2 is actually entertained by the Telletubbies) and the stupidity of the moral majority. What a gold mine.

From there I produced a, somewhat sissy-pants, article about the Shootings in Colorado. Yawn. Want to know what really gets me, though? That artical says absolutly nothing, it just asks questions. Questions to which people seam to give all the wrong answers.

I want to be original. I want to break new ground, provide new insight, and piss off all the people dumb enough to hate me for what I say. I want those people to flood my email box, and turn Psychobable into a madhouse I tell you, a maaaadhouse!!

I find that the most original thing, probably the only original thing I possess is my own opinion on issues. And that's what Contributions to the Breakdown will from hence for be about: issues. Don't worry, I'll still keep the same cynical wit that's endeared me to you. But now that wit will be brought to bare aginst the stupidity of our culture. And there's a whole lot of that to go around.

So pull up a chair, grab some pop corn and get ready. 'Cuz, quite frankly, other people have a column, so why can't I?
